Great Depression Stories

                 Here is your assignment.  The people who lived through the Great Depression and WW II have frequently been referred to as the Greatest Generation.  Their perserverence through our countries toughest economic crisis and a devasting world war is a testament to their embodiment of the strength and resolve of Americans.  Listed below are the beginnings of some families that Lived through the Great Drepression.  Based on what you will learn, read, and research on the Great Depression you will finish the stories.  Be creative, you may add family members and take the stories in any direction you see fit.  However,  this is a school assignment and what you add must be appropriate.  No foul language or explicit material may be in the stories.  Each story must incorporate actual events, themes, and elements of reality that occurred during the Great Depression.  Your Group will be given a grade on your story and they will be used in an essay assignment for your unit test.   Have fun and come see me with any questions you have, or see me in lunch, you know I am always there making the lunch safe for everyone.

In writing your stories Make sure to include the minimum for the minimum grade. 

• Mention the psychological effects of the Great Depression had on people. 
• How the Great Depression effected the family unit.   
• Be sure to include New Deal Measures. 
• Include at least three factual events that happened during the Depression and the effect the event had. 
• Your family at some point must hit rock bottom and then work their way back up to at least a brighter future. 
• Your story must end as the United States get into WWII in 1941.
